Bowls

Fused glass bowls are available in a number of different colors, techniques, finishes, and sizes.  These bowls can be used as a functional item or as an art piece.

Tequila Sunrise

$295.00

Sold out

Tequila Sunrise is a kiln formed bowl that uses transparent and opalescent glass stringers (thin glass rods) to compose geometric patterns in reds, oranges, and turquoises. The underside of the bowl is white.

The technique used for this bowl is referred to as as tapestry. The technique starts with patterned sheets of glass that are cut and assembled prior to placement in a kiln to melt the glass together. The edges of the flat, round disc are then coldworked by machine and by hand prior to returning to the kiln for "slumping", which gives the piece a bowl shape.

The surface of the bowl has a soft, matte finish, which is achieved by coldworking. The dimensions are 14.75 inches diameter and 2.25 inches high. The bowl has been signed on the bottom.
